Custom Curtains in Dubai – The Ultimate Buying Guide
From tailored blackout drapes to elegant sheer wave-fold curtains and smart motorization – everything you need to know before you buy.
At Maison Curtains, we specialize in bespoke, high-end drapery solutions engineered specifically for Dubai’s modern architecture and unique climate. From tailored blackout drapes to elegant sheer wave-fold curtains and smart motorization, here is everything you need to know about buying custom curtains in Dubai.
Why Choose Custom Curtains Over Ready-Made Options?
While off-the-shelf window coverings might seem quick and convenient, Dubai’s residential and commercial spaces demand custom-made precision. Standard sizes rarely accommodate the tall, floor-to-ceiling glass paneling prevalent in UAE architecture.
- Flawless Fit & Tailoring: Custom drapery eliminates embarrassing gaps at the sides and uneven floor clearances, ensuring clean lines and a polished aesthetic.
- Superior Thermal Insulation: High-performance drapery fabrics block out intense UAE sunlight, reducing indoor heat buildup and helping lower your AC energy bills.
- Full Design Customization: Choose your exact fabric weight, texture, lining, color palette, and header style (such as modern S-fold / wave fold or classic pinch pleat).
Choosing the Right Curtain Style for Your Dubai Home
Blackout Curtains for Total Privacy & Light Control
Dubai gets an average of 8 to 10 hours of intense sunlight daily. High-quality blackout curtains are essential for bedrooms, home theaters, and nurseries. Maison Curtains offers premium blackout fabrics that completely block external light while insulating your room against heat and noise.
Sheer Curtains for Soft, Natural Daylight
Sheer curtains filter natural sunlight effortlessly, creating a soft, ambient glow while maintaining daytime privacy. They add airiness, depth, and elegance to living rooms and dining areas – especially when paired with a double-track blackout system.
Modern S-Fold (Wave Fold) Curtains
The S-Fold curtain style is the top design trend across Dubai luxury properties. Installed on specialized ceiling tracks, S-Fold drapery creates smooth, continuous, uniform S-waves from top to bottom, offering a sleek, contemporary look.
Smart Motorized Curtains (Tuya & Smart Home Integration)
Control your curtains at the touch of a button, via smartphone apps, or with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. Smart motorized curtain tracks are ideal for double-height ceilings, large villa windows, or simply adding seamless convenience to your daily routine.

Key Factors to Consider Before Buying Curtains in Dubai
- Sun Orientation & Fabric UV Resistance: South- and west-facing windows receive direct sun, requiring high-grade UV-resistant linings to prevent color fading.
- Track Concealment: Decide whether you prefer concealed ceiling recessed tracks or decorative, exposed track profiles.
- Fabric Fullness Multipliers: To achieve a rich, luxurious fold, curtains should use 2.0x to 2.5x the width of the track in total fabric width.
